Founder, CEO

Rajat founded TESSOL in early 2013 with a vision to create a farm to fork cold chain in India. He has extensive experience in the energy space across India, Europe and US. Having worked with several early stage startups like 3Tier, Flodesign, Promethean Power, he brings in deep understanding of product design, technology commercialization and market entry strategy in the clean tech space.

Rajat started his professional career at Bosch Rexroth India where he joined as an International Management Trainee in 2003. At Promethean Power, he led strategy and operations as the Chief Operating Officer bringing its thermal storage technology for milk cooling successfully from concept to market in less than a year. As an entrepreneur-in-residence (2012) at Infuse Ventures, he led their venture creation initiatives with an aim to create and incubate innovations in the cleantech space. He successfully launched the first venture accelerator for cleantech in India bringing together top clean energy startups and mentors from across the country.

Rajat is a mechanical engineer from IIT Delhi (2003) and an MBA from Harvard Business School (2010). He speaks English, Hindi and German (conversational). Rajat has a strong passion for music and cooking and is actively involved in local music society.


Senior Advisor and Angel Investor

Rustom is a mentor and adviser at TESSOL. He has invested in and incubated the company at his facility in Navi Mumbai.

Rustom has an undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma in accounting and an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management. During his 7 years working in Corporate America, Rustom has held several positions at Hess Oil as well as with M&T Bank. When Rustom returned to his hometown Mumbai after spending 15 years in the United States, he pioneered the concept of branded packaged ice using energy efficient ice machines.

Today, Icelings is the largest manufacturer of packaged ice in Mumbai and one of the largest manufacturers of tube ice plants in the world. Icelings has recently installed the worlds largest ice plant for a Gold mining company in South Africa for it’s thermal energy storage for cooling one of the world’s deepest mines.

In addition Rustom is an investor with diversified interests in real estate, seafood processing, renewable energy and captive wind power (with generation of 7.5MW). Rustom is presently the President of the Seafood Exporters Association, Mumbai Chapter as well as the Windmill Owners Association of India.





Dr. Ritu Verma is Co-founder and Managing partner at Ankur Capital. Prior to focusing on social entrepreneurship, Ritu was director at Truven, a boutique advisory company for venture funds looking at investments in India and SE Asia. She is passionate about bringing innovation from lab to the market and did that for over a decade across different roles at Philips and Unilever. She holds an MBA from INSEAD with a focus on entrepreneurship and venture capital and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Pennsylvania.



Amber is Vice President at Infuse Ventures. He has over 6 years of professional experience in strategy consulting, financial services and investments. Prior to joining Infuse Ventures, he was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group for 2 years, where he worked for companies across sectors (Industrial Goods, Financial Services, Information Technology) on strategy as well as implementation projects. He has also spent 2 years with Deutsche Bank where he worked on equity sales and portfolio transitions for institutional investors across Asia. Amber is an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a Mechnical Engineer from IIT Kanpur.
